The landscape around Kielder Water & Forest Park has inspired the creation of an award-winning collection of art and architecture that responds to the scale of its unique environment and fascinating history.
The collection includes more than 20 works, from Kielder Skyspace by internationally acclaimed artist James Turrell to the iconic Silvas Capitalis - a giant timber head that watches and listens to the nuances of forest life.
Recent artworks include: Fiona Curran’s ‘The grass seemed darker than ever’; ‘Castles, Follies and Elephants’, a series of colourful and surprising sculptures by Harper/Perry; and ‘Bakethin Hide’, designed in collaboration with Newcastle University School of Architecture.
Visitors can also join our experienced art curator on a minibus tour to explore the Park’s most well-known artworks.
Summer tour dates are as follows: Sunday 27 May, Sundays 8 July and 22 July, Sunday 12 August, Wednesday 22 August and Sunday 9 September.
