Inspiration Exploration is a creative partnership which brings together The Blyth Tall Ship and Headway Arts, two of Northumberland’s most visionary organisations.


Make your own Blue Flag to be displayed on Sunday 19 August at Blyth Beach at one of our FREE creative arts workshops. Open to all ages, just drop in.

BLUE FLAG – Sunday 19 August

An installation of over 600 handmade blue sailcloth flags illustrating this journey of discovery to Antarctica made by Williams. Headway Arts are working with local people using exciting cyanotype photoreactive and printmaking techniques on the coast creating an ephemeral urry of colour and movement.

Flags will appear along the tideline near to Blyth iconic beach huts on Sunday 19 August from dawn till dusk, responding to the turn of the tides.
