Mortal Fools Presents: OUT THERE

Remember what it was like to be young; exploring the world for the first time? The excitement of not knowing what’s next? Or, perhaps you are growing up in Northumberland right now, exploring the landscape, full of excitement? With OUT THERE you can channel your inner youth, whether you are young or not, as you follow theatre company, Mortal Fools along the beautiful, rural route of the River Tyne in Prudhoe.

Made up of people born in this millennium, Mortal Fools create compelling, dynamic and exciting theatre by professional artists working as co-creators with young people and local communities. The aim is to be as collaborative as possible: by pushing boundaries; interacting with audiences and creating contemporary performances.

For Great Northumberland 2018, Mortal Fools have collaborated with Tyne Valley Youth Theatre to create a very special, one-off outdoor theatre production, which combines text, visuals and sound – all showcased by young people from the Tyne Valley.

This wonderful event will demonstrate how young people in Northumberland feel about where they come from; where they live and grow and where they are going next – all against the backdrop of the striking Northumberland countryside.

OUT THERE will take you on a guided scenic tour of Prudhoe’s riverside route, wearing silent disco-style headphones, which will allow you to hear stories performed by young Northumbrians along the way.

Sturdy Shoes Advised

Performances of OUT THERE will last for 90 minutes and the walking route is just over a mile in distance. This is an outdoor walking performance on countryside ground, so don’t be surprised if you encounter some semi-rough ground or slight inclines. We advise you to wear walking boots or sturdy shoes, and to bring a waterproof – the performances will take place come rain or shine!

Leave The Car At Home

Living close-by? Why not start the journey from home and leave the car at home? After all, what could be better than spending the morning or afternoon in the fresh air! Further afield? Don’t worry! There is car parking available on site for the duration of the show, although do note that attendees will be asked to leave the car park to enable space for the next show’s audience.
