Great Northumberland’s core programme of events ran across Summer 2018, but there’s still plenty to enjoy in Northumberland. This autumn and winter, our great county offers a huge range of arts, culture and heritage events, exhibitions, concerts and performances for all.
Experience Northumberland
From celebratory festivals to the exploration of the galaxies at Allenheads Contemporary Arts, international sculpture exhibitions in rural landscaped gardens to a celebration of women in science, technology, engineering and maths at Cragside, an immersive experience at Lindisfarne Castle, and live music performances, we invite you to Experience Northumberland.

GN2018 Events Programme
Over 56 days of summer, Northumberland County Council curated a selection of events to Enjoy, Discover, Explore and Reimagine Northumberland.
In a year that saw the Great Exhibition of the North put the spotlight on the North, we celebrated the best that Northumberland has to offer.
Great Northumberland began on Saturday 7 July with a spectacular opening ceremony in Hexham, Northumberland and officially closed in Berwick-upon-Tweed on Saturday 1 September.
