About Novo Theatre

Novo Theatre (formerly November Club) works with some of the most exciting theatre makers in the North East to create original, unexpected stories that connect past, present, and future.

Rooted in the North East, their productions reflect the region’s people, places, and voices—not only in the themes and narratives they explore, but also in the way they work. Collaboration is at the heart of what they do, with communities actively shaping projects through co-creation and participation.

As a National Portfolio Organisation supported by Arts Council England, Novo Theatre is committed to championing local talent and enriching cultural life across the region.

The company was first established in 1990 as European Players, became a registered charity in 1993, evolved into November Club in 2010, and rebranded as Novo Theatre in June 2025.
