Halloween Fun & Parade


Step into a week of colourful fun this Halloween. From spooky decorations to vibrant Day of the Dead traditions, there's something for the whole family.

Join daily drop-in workshops to make paper skulls for the parade. 
Then on Friday 31 October at 3pm, bring your creations to life in a magical community parade with costumed dancers, music, and a themed parade trolley. Free, family friendly, and full of fun. 

Produced by Blyth Town Council, Halloween Fun & Parade is presented as part of Blyth Celebrates – a celebration of creativity and community running through to March 2026.

A Spooktacular Week in Blyth


This October, join a week-long celebration that bring together the spooky fun of Halloween with the vibrant colours and traditions of Day of the Dead. 

Enjoy free family workshops, colourful crafts, and community spirit.

 

Get hands-on with daily drop-in workshops:

 

  • Paper skulls and spooky decorations

  • Traditional marigold flowers and tissue crafts

  • Halloween masks and headpieces (perfect for the parade!)

  • Sugar skull decorating

Add your creations to our giant community Ofrenda alter, which will grow throughout the week as families add their colourful designs.

All activities are free, drop-in on the day.

Halloween Swap Shop
 

Looking for a last-minute costume? Or have one your kids have outgrown? Our Swap Shop is here to help! Drop off, pick up, or swap fancy dress items – it’s the sustainable way to get parade-ready.
 

Parade Day – Friday 31 October, 3pm

The week culminates in a spectacular community parade around the Market Place starting at 3pm, packed with colour, music and costumes. Expect music and rhythms, costumed dancers, a colourful parade trolley and a carnival style finale to the week.

Bring your costume, your creativity, and your energy – let’s light up Blyth together!

Junior Netball Festival

Presented by Concordia Netball

Children aged 7 to 13 can enjoy a fun-packed netball festival. Play exciting games, learn new skills, and make new friends. All sessions are led by qualified England Netball coaches – and no experience is needed.

A magical seaside storytelling session for little ones and their families. Sing, move, sign with Makaton - and older children can make their own mini Blyth Beach book to take home.
